Position Summary

This is a working supervisor position. The supervisor will plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received from suppliers or Kitchen Brains’ production areas. This activity will result in an accurate, smooth, and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments effectively and efficiently to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

The Warehouse & Inventory Supervisor will report to the Director of Operations 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain personnel structure to accomplish stockroom, Point of Use Storage (POUS), and receiving mission effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintain Stockroom procedures including First In First Out (FIFO), handling of supplier Kan Ban tags, fulfillment and handling of internal Kan Ban tags, Daily Cycle Counts, component location accuracy, etc.
  • Interview and recommend candidates for stockroom and receiving.
  • Plan and coordinate work schedules.
  • Train, develop, and motivate; monitor and evaluate performance of stockroom and receiving personnel.
  • Ensure stockroom and receiving employees can operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Monitor that equipment is maintained to accomplish the mission safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor unloading of material to the Receiving Dept ensuring materials are handled per established procedures, that receiving is done accurately, and that appropriate information is posted accurately with any internal labeling done properly.
  • Oversee movement of material from Receiving to Stockroom or Floor ensuring a safe, effective, and timely process.
  • Oversee supplying of materials to fabrication areas, ensuring that materials are properly stored and organized.
  • Maintain 99% inventory accuracy through maintaining stockroom procedures and execution of daily cycle counting regimen in stockroom including fixing problems found on root cause analysis of cycle count errors.
  • Reconcile the Negative List daily.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Ability to place orders for packaging supplies.
  • Ability to prepare proper documentation and schedule daily pickups.
  • Responsible for communicating with shipping providers for lost and damaged packages.

 

Required Education and Experience 

  • 3 to 5 years experience in manufacturing stockroom or manufacturing inventory control.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of receiving, stockroom, and material handling operations, methods, and practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Must be computer literate. 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Great attention to detail and quality. Production-minded. Able to respond and perform under pressure.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and operate a computer in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Understanding of materials handling.
  • Strong organizational skills & time management skills.
  • Ability to provide direction to team members.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Adaptability to change and flexible mindset.
  • Able to operate semiautomatic machines and related equipment. 
  • Good hand/eye coordination.
