April – Andy Rivera
Congratulations to our SMT Operator, Andy Rivera, for winning April’s Employee of the Month. Having worked for Kitchen Brains for over 15 years, Andy is a vital asset on our manufacturing floor. His knowledge, experience and dedication is obvious in his work. He goes above and beyond to meet strict deadlines and customer demands, and is creative in his thinking when it comes to company savings. March – Erin Olenoski
Congratulations to March’s Employee of the Month, Erin Olenoski, in our Marketing Department! As Marketing Coordinator, Erin is instrumental in making sure the department runs smoothly. She is always willing to help anyone at a moment’s notice, and she takes care of many small things that may go unnoticed to some, but truly make an incredible impact on the culture here at Kitchen Brains. For the month of February, Kitchen Brains is proud to announce Arnold Zimmerman aka Ziggy, our Engineer Manager and New Product Developer, as Employee of the Month! January – Alcina Andrade
A very special congratulations to 2017’s first Employee of the Month, Alcina Andrade, on our Manufacturing Floor. As Product Assembler, Alcina supports our team in various aspects of her job, working on several different activities both independently and collectively with others. She is self-motivated, proactive in seeking out assignments, and is always willing to lend support to accomplish any tasks that need to be completed. October – Eric Lee
For the month of October, Kitchen Brains is proud to announce Eric Lee, Kitchen Brains Manufacturing Engineering Technician, as Employee of the Month. Eric consistently performs his duties at a high level, analyzing issues, and suggesting ideas on how we might improve a process. Eric is willing to do what it takes when there are spikes in the receiving area and is creative in his thinking as it relates to continuous improvement. September – Bill Pardee
Congratulations to September’s Employee of the Month, Bill Pardee! Time and time again, Bill has shown tremendous promise. Leading two Continuous Improvement Teams, Bill is an active member in more than half of our teams. Bill works closely with all in production personnel to understand their input so improvements to fixtures, process, and tooling can be made. He responds immediately to urgent machine issues, troubleshooting the problem, and either making adjustments or replacing parts as required. Thank you, Bill! Keep up the good work.
August – Lee Bishop
A special congratulations to Lee Bishop for winning Employee of the Month for August. Always taking on additional responsibilities and first to lend a helping hand, Lee is instrumental in the Powershift implementation. Thank you for all that you do for us, Lee. We are so grateful. #teamGENIUS.
July- Jake Pallock
Having been here for less than a year, Jake Pallock’s successes here at Kitchen Brains have far exceeded any expectations. Not only is Jake extremely pleasant to work with and never says no to helping out within the organization, he has played a central role within our company in only a short timeframe. Instrumental in the installations for clients across different regions in the U.S., central in working with OEM customers like Grindmaster, and point person on the FSM products internally, we thank Jake for all he has done for us. Weight Loss Challenges
For the past year, one of Kitchen Brains top initiatives was promoting wellness and being active. Since spring of 2015, we have participated in three different weight loss challenges. The most recent one, the “Double Down Challenge” came to an end on April 26th. Overall, the company lost over 1,057 pounds from our last four challenges! We are proud to announce the top three teams with the highest percentage of weight loss; “Step Of” coming in first place, followed by “Team Low Cal” in second and “Shake it Off” in third! The top three individuals with the highest percentage of weight loss were Yahaira Garcia, Ed Musial and Charles Parniawski. Within the next couple of weeks, we will continue our mission to stay active with another weight loss challenge! Congratulations to all members of #teamGENIUS who are working towards a healthy life.
Double Down Challenge
The Double Down Weight Loss Challenge is another company initiative to stay healthy and active. Teams of two work hard over the next eight weeks to achieve their weight loss goal. The top three teams with double digit percentage of weight loss win prizes and bragging rights. #teamGENIUS #teamGENIUSgetshealthy
Fun with Fitness
As part of the company’s wellness initiative, Kitchen Brains is having a Fun with Fitness activity challenge. The idea is to stay active – receive points for different activities you do. Food Drive/Toy Drive
To get ready for the upcoming holidays, Kitchen Brains will be having a Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas Toy Drive! Boxes will be placed in both upstairs and downstairs cafeteria from the beginning of November to the end of December. Keep your holiday spirit alive and donate to those in need!
Fairfield University Fall Career Fair – Wednesday, September 28th – 11AM – 2PM
Fairfield University Career Fairs are popular among job seekers and employers alike. They offer opportunities for individuals seeking employment, or in some cases internships, to meet with several employers. Fairfield University creates a community that challenges students academically while connecting talents and values with societal needs. The typical Fairfield student has a strong work ethic, analytical and communication skills, leadership, and problem solving ability.
University of New Haven Fall Career Fair – Thursday, September 29th – 10AM – 2PM
The University of New Haven provides its students with a unique combination of a solid liberal arts education and real-world, hands-on career and research opportunities. The Career Development Center helps students with the assessment of career skills and interests, the exploration of career and major options, preparation and assistance in locating internships and experience-based opportunities. The University of New Haven gives their students the opportunity to attend a Career Fair in the fall and spring semester which previews the skills learned from the Development Center and the discussion for potential future employment.
Sacred Heart University Fall Career Fair – Wednesday, October 19th -1:00PM – 4:30PM
At the annual Sacred Heart University Internship and Career Fair at the William H. Pitt Health and Recreation Center, over 400 students and alums meet face-to-face with prospective employers, allowing them to display their personalities and demonstrate a passion for the work they seek, something cyberspace just can’t capture and convey.
