Position Summary

 

The duties of the Staff Accountant include a variety of accounting functions. This position will assist with the monthly close, maintain records, analyze data, file reports, assist with the year-end audit, and ensure monthly tax compliance. The ideal candidate is passionate and curious about their work and is excited about supporting a growing global business.

 

As Staff Accountant, you will report to the Senior Accounting Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.
• Daily cash reporting and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post monthly general ledger journal entries.
• Maintain general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with the monthly close process including detailed review of accounts.
• Provide support during year-end audit.
• Track and monitor inventory.
• Prepare manufacturing cost and variance analysis.
• Record, maintain, and reconcile fixed assets and related depreciation accounts.
• Prepare property tax returns.
• Calculate monthly commissions.
• Serve as a backup to accounts payable and accounts receivable when necessary.
• Review sales and use tax returns, prepare 1099s and other external reports.
• Maintenance of sales and use tax records.
• Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

 

 

 

Required Education and Experience

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 2 – 4 years of accounting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power point, Outlook)
• In depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Must be a self-starter and adaptable/comfortable in an evolving environment.
• Strong analytical skills, independence, and curiosity.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• CPA a plus
• Cost Accounting experience a plus.
